- Select "XY Position."
To pan around the Drilling XY Position Dashboard:
- Activate the map by placing the mouse cursor anywhere on the map and clicking the screen, then use the Up, Down, Left, or Right arrows on the keyboard; or
- Place the mouse cursor anywhere on the Drilling XY Position Dashboard map, press and hold the left mouse button, and move the cursor as required.
To rotate and tilt the Drilling XY Position Dashboard:
- Place the mouse cursor anywhere on the map, press and hold the right mouse button, and move the cursor as required or
- Place the mouse cursor anywhere on the map, press and hold Ctrl on the keyboard, press and hold the left mouse button, and move the cursor as required.
The following information is shown on the Drilling XY Position Dashboard:
- Blast Name Selector.
- Total Number of Holes.
- Colour Legend.
- Back To Site Map.
- View.
- Map View
- Table View
- Summary and Plots.
- Hole Details Panel.
- Measurements.
- Layers.
- Display.
Detailed information on each section:
-
-
Blast Name Selector
- Select a blast from the drop-down list.
- The user can type in to search for the desired blast.
-
Total Number of Holes
- Displays the total number of holes in a blast.
-
Colour Legend
- Displays a gradient from lighter to darker shades.
- Lighter shades indicate smaller deviations, and darker shades indicate an increased magnitude of deviation from design.
-
Back to Site Map
- Click the "Back to Site Map" button.
- User will be redirected to the Site Map page.
-
View
-
Map View
- Navigate to the view selector.
- Select "Map View".
- On the map, it displays an area per hole coloured, indicating the extent of variation between the actual as-drilled collar position and the original design collar position, with darker shades indicating an increasing magnitude of deviation from design. The design and actual as-drilled blast-hole collar positions are shown on the map for comparison. To learn more, click here.
-
Table View
- Navigate to the view selector.
- Select "Table View".
- Table view will be visible and show relevant data.
- Use the search boxes to filter the data.
- Click on the column headers to sort.
- You can download by clicking the download button to initiate a CSV file download.
-

-
Summary and Plots
-
Summary
- Click on the "Summary" icon located in the right-hand corner.
- Navigate to the summary section.
- Blast summary displays the blast % compliance of the blast, plus other helpful statistics.
- Scroll vertically to see all information.
-
Plots
-
Scatter Polar Plot
- Displays the actual blast-hole collar locations relative to their designed position. Click here to learn more about this type of chart.
- Click and drag to zoom in, double-click to reset zoom.
-
Histogram
- Displays the blast's positional deviation distribution, count of holes for each deviation range in the Y axis and the XY collar deviation in the X axis.
- Click and drag horizontally to zoom in, double-click to reset zoon.
- When multiple tolerances are use, a stacked histogram will be shown which will indicate how many of a given deviation range are within tolerance.
-
Box Plot
- Displays the deviation distribution of the blast. Click here to learn more about this type of chart.
- Click and drag horizontally to zoom in, double-click to reset zoom.
- When multiple tolerance is used, the box plot will remain, but no single tolerance will be displayed via tolerance lines or colour gradients.

Summary
-
Hole Details Panel
- Click on a hole on the map.
- The hole details panel opens.
- Clicking the Hole Details icon without clicking a hole by default shows no data.
- The hole details panel closes only when the user clicks the "x" button.
- Once the panel is closed and you want to open the panel again, click the "Hole Details" icon at the bottom left-hand corner.
- The panel consists of five tabs: Details, Decks, Measurements, Drill Data, and Comments.
-
Details
- By default, the "Details" will be visible, presenting users with design, drilled, and measured data.
-
Decks
- Decks and relevant properties are grouped by design, adjusted and actual.
- Deck is displayed by a lower number from the bottom to the top (higher number).
-
Measurements
- Provides a concise overview of recorded data, including the time occurrence, associated deck, property details, recorded values, user identity, and the equipment or device used.
- Measurements are ordered by timestamp.
- Sorting is implemented by clicking on the column headers.
-
Drill Data
- Provides a concise summary of drilling-related information. Users will find details such as the average penetration rate, start time, end time, drill name, operator, and timestamps for when the event occurred and was received.
-
Comments
- Hole comments recorded in BlastIQ™ Mobile v1.22.206 or older will not show in the comments in the hole details panel. These comments are still available in the already supported display points and data export.
-
Details
-
Measurements
- Click the measurements icon located in the lower left-hand corner.
- Click anywhere on the map to draw points.
-
Lines should automatically connect the points.
- The aggregated distance of the drawn lines will be visible.
-
Layers
- Click on the layers icon.
- Choose "Image Overlays" or "Polylines" from the available options.
- Select "None" for the display of no layers.
To upload polylines and image overlays, please visit the Site Map article here and navigate to the Layer Administration section.

Hole Compliance
Each hole is evaluated based on the following:
Where:
XA and YA : Drill Actual Collar X and Y coordinates.
XD and YD: Design Collar X and Y coordinates.
Positional Deviation is calculated for each hole, hence marking the hole as one of the following:
- Within Tolerance – if the Positional Deviation does not exceed the site’s Drill Collar Position XY Tolerance set in the Admin Portal.
- Exceeding Tolerance – if the Positional Deviation exceeds the site’s Drill Collar Position XY Tolerance set in the Admin Portal.
- Or, No Data – There is not sufficient data to run the analysis. E.g. the hole has a Design Collar Position XY but not a Drill Actual Collar Position XY.
Blast % Compliance
The Blast’s Drilling Position % Compliance is calculated with this formula:
Tolerances
This dashboard accepts the Collar XY Tolerances defined in and exported from SHOTPlus™.
SHOTPlus™ 6 > Edit > Blast Properties> Hole tolerances
When no hole type tolerance is specified, the dashboard uses the site level XY Position Reporting Tolerance defined in the Admin Portal.
Any changes to the site level tolerances in the Admin Portal will apply to all single blast dashboards across the site (not previously created reports). To learn more about Reporting Tolerances, click here.
Note:
- All percentage values are truncated to 1 decimal place.
- All other values are rounded to 1 decimal place.
