- This Knowledge Base Article describes the use of Site Map in BlastIQ™ Insights.
Summary
BlastIQ™ Insights enables users to visually find blasts and navigate to its other pages, visualise points of interest, administrate map layers, and aid in identifying issues with the site's coordinate transformation parameters which are directly related to BlastIQ™ field devices GPS location precision.
Site Map is the default landing page after login and site selection. To navigate to Site Map:
- Click on the left hand menu icon.
- To navigate to other views from within Site Map, right-click on any of the blast boundaries and select the desired view from the pop-up menu.
Select multiple blasts and navigate
- Click on the blast boundaries on the map to select 2 or more blasts.
- Information about selected blasts will display on the top right corner of the map.
- Right click on one of the selected blasts.
- Navigate to multiple blast water presence dashboard.
To clear multiple blast selections OR select all blasts displayed on the map:
- Right click on a blank space on the map to see the Select All and Clear All functions.
- Multiple Blast Selection limit: 30 blasts or 10,000 holes.
Users can interact with the Site Map in a number of ways:
- Mouse over each element on the map to visualise relevant information.
- Place the mouse cursor anywhere on the map and click on the screen, then use the Up, Down, Left, or Right arrows on the keyboard or Left-click and drag anywhere on the map to pan.
- Use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
- Right-click (or CTRL + Left-click) and drag to rotate and tilt.
Blasts can be filtered using the following filters:
- Blast Name Search Filter:
- Type in the search box.
- Blasts shown are the one containing the typed in characters.
- Blast Status Filter:
- Select : All, Fired or Not Fired.
- Date Range filter:
- Select Created or Fired Date.
- From and To fields are not mandatory.
- If date range filter is not used the blasts shown are the latest created/fired for the site.
- Maximum number of blasts shown is based on the Display Filter.
- Elevation filter:
- Choose a minimum and/or a maximum elevation.
- Select Collar or Grade.
- If elevation filter is not used the blasts shown any elevation range.
- Maximum number of blasts shown is based on the Display Filter.
- Tags filter:
- Click on the Tags icon.
- Select the desired tags from each category.
- Click Apply to apply the filter criteria.
- Site Map will return the blasts containing the selected tags based on the following logic:
- OR for tags within the same category.
- AND for tags across categories.
- Click on Clear and then Apply to clear all tags filters.
- Click on the X on the top right to close the tags filter by , any edits to the filter criteria will be lost if not previously applied.

- Clear All filters - clears any filters that have been applied.
- Display selection:
- Choose 30, 60, or 90 blasts from the dropdown list.
- This filter dictates the maximum number of blasts displayed in the Site Map in addition of other filters.
Site Map enables users to upload polylines and image overlays that can be seen in Site Map and other dashboards. To access settings and upload a polyline or image overlay:
- Select the gear icon located in to bottom right corner of the map.
- Select polylines or image overlays.
- Select Polylines.
- Select "Choose file..." and select the file to upload using your device's file browser.
- Select the file's type of coordinates: Global (Lat, Long) or Local (Easting, Northing).
- Select Upload.
- OR delete previously uploaded polylines.
Note: When uploading, the browser window might freeze for a few seconds. Polylines will display on the map after a few seconds (depending on your internet connection speed).
Information:

- The uploaded file will be visible to all users with access to the site.
- Supported file formats:
- DXF - recommended for pit survey lines.
- 5MB file size limit. To ensure optimum load times, decimation (reducing the number of points) of the DXF file is recommended to ensure the file size is below the 5 mb limit.
- Only 1 DXF file is supported per site. A new upload overwrites any previously uploaded file.
- Select Image Overlays.
- Type in a Display Name.
- Select "Choose file..." and select the file to upload using your device's file browser.
- Select the file's type of coordinates: Global (Lat, Long) or Local (Easting, Northing).
- Edit the coordinates for the four corners of the image. Use the green rectangle displayed on the map as reference.
- Select Save.
Note: When uploading, the browser window might freeze for a few seconds, the image overlay will display on the map after a few seconds (depending on your internet connection speed).
Information:

- The uploaded file(s) will be visible to all users with access to the site.
- Supported file formats:
- JPEG - recommended for flyover images.
- PNG - recommended for simple cad exported images.
- AVIF - recommended for large compressed images and where transparency is required.
- WEBP - recommended for large compressed images and where transparency is required for MS Edge users.
- 10MB file size limit. To ensure loading speed performance. It is recommended the files are compressed to below 1mb.
- The maximum supported image resolutions are:
- Desktop: 16384px (width/height).
- Mobile device: 4096px (width/height).

- If the image is beyond the size, you will see a black box.
- Up to four image overlays per site. Users can rename, edit, and delete existing images individually.
Site Map provides tools to enable easier navigation and identification of issues with coordinate transformations:
- Select the Navigation icon to open the tool.
- Select any of the following elements to focus the map view on it:
- Site Centre.
- Blast Names.
- Points of Interest.
- Select the location icon to turn on the tool.
- An information box will display on the top right corner indicates the location on the mouse cursor in Global and Local coordinates.
- Select the measurement icon to open the tool.
- Select the map to draw points on the map. Lines will be drawn to connect these points.
- The aggregated distance of the drawn lines is displayed in an information box in the top right corner of the map.
- Click View Settings.
- Select Standard or Alternate colour palette.
- Select Blast Name On/Off.
- Select Site Center On/Off.
- Click on the Layers tool.
- Turn on or off the desired image or polyline layers.
- Click the + icon to zoom in.
- Click the - icon to zoom out.
- Click and drag on the north icon to rotate the map view.
- Click again to reset the orientation of the map.
