Summary
BlastIQ™ Mobile (Underground) enables operators to record water and temperature conditions in a hole during the prep and charging workflow. Capturing this data supports better QA/QC outcomes by giving teams visibility into hole conditions.
Water can be recorded either as a simple presence indicator (wet or dry) or a precise depth or amount measurement, depending on how the site has configured water capture. Temperature is recorded as a numeric reading in either Celsius or Fahrenheit.
Follow the steps below to enable water presence capture and temperature.
- Select a site and click the "BlastIQ Mobile Configuration" menu.
-
Click the "Edit" button.
- By default, "Enable water presence capture" is true. Untick the checkbox to enable water depth/amount recording instead of a simple wet/dry indicator.
- Tick the checkbox "Enable temperature capture" to enable it.
-
Click the "Save" button when done.
- If the "Enable water presence capture" is set to False (No):
- Operators can record a water measurement against the hole.
- Two preferences toggles become visible under Ways of Working in preferences, allowing the site to configure how that measurement is captured:
- Water measuring method: Amount of or Depth to
- Default water measurement type: Body of water or Wet Sides
To record a water measurement against a hole:
- Navigate to Prep or Charge view.
- Locate the hole and tap the water field.
- Input the water measurement using water editor.
- Tap OK when done.
Note: Depending on the configured Water measuring method and Default water measurement type, the label on the modal will differ for example: Amount of Water, Depth to Water, Amount of Wet Sides, or Depth to Wet Sides. Read more on Measure Water After Backfill or Stand-off
- If the "Enable water presence capture" is set to True (Yes):
- Operators can mark a hole as wet or dry, rather than recording a specific water measurement. Read more here.
- The two water preferences toggles "Water measuring method & Default water measurement type" are hidden.
To mark a hole as wet or dry:
- Navigate to Prep or Charge view.
- Locate the hole and tap the wet field.
- Select Yes or No.
- Tap OK.
The Enable temperature capture settings in the Admin Portal controls whether temperature can be recorded against a hole.
- If the "Enable temperature capture" is set to True:
- Operators can record a temperature against the hole, in either Celsius or Fahrenheit depending on the site's Units of measurement preference.
- The temperature field is visible on each hole row in both Prep and Charge view
To record a temperature reading against a hole:
- Navigate to the Prep or Charge view.
- Locate the hole and tap the temperature field.

- The temperature field is not visible in Prep or Charge views.
To change or remove previously recorded values:
- Locate a hole with a recorded water measurements and or temperature reading in Prep or Charge views.
