Summary
Clock skew occurs when the device clock drifts, often when prevented from syncing with internet time. It can lead to measurement errors and incorrect loading. To mitigate these risks, BlastIQ™ Mobile warns users when the device time moves into unsafe ranges. It is highly recommended that the clock skew remains less than 30 seconds. Clock skew greater than 5 minutes is considered critically out of sync.
If clock skew occurs, follow the steps to resolve the issue.
- Open Windows 'Settings' and select 'Time & language'
- Click the 'Sync now' button.
- Restart the application after correcting/changing the device date/time.
Important Notes:
- If this does not work, you may have to contact your local IT team to verify if the NTP ports required for time synchronisation are unblocked by the firewall and if the device time server is correctly configured. See BlastIQ Network requirements for additional information or contact support.
Clock Skew Messaging
If the clock skew is greater than or equal to 5 minutes, a critical message appears during start-up or after logout, and a critical reminder appears when opening a plan from the drill plan list.
