KBA Summary:

This Knowledge Base Article describes the functionality of the 'Current Plan' toggle within BlastIQ™ Mobile - Underground

Summary

As part of the Drill and Blast process, a hole is generally first assigned to a Drill Plan to be drilled, then a Prep Plan once it has been drilled (and drilling returns have been received), and finally a Charge Plan once it has been prepped (and the prep returns have been received). A hole may therefore exist on a number of different plans during its lifecycle. How this hole is viewed and interreacted with may vary between workgroups (e.g. Production Driller compared to Charge-Up/Crew)

Depending on how a site manages their Drill and Blast design and execution processes, generally:

  • A single Drill Plan may constitute one or more Prep Plans, and
  • A single Prep Plan may constitute one or more Charge Plans.

Understanding this, BlastIQ™ Mobile has introduced a new 'Current Plan' toggle, that gives field teams the flexibility to see a hole against the plan it was first issued (Original Plan), to which plan that hole currently belongs to (Current Plan).

Figure 1: An example showing how blasts might be grouped into stopes.

Considering Figure 1 above:

  • A single Drill Plan may be issued for the entire drive that encompasses all three stopes (Stope 1, Stope 2 and Stope 3)
  • Each stope is split into several smaller plans for prepping and charging
    • Stope 1 = 6 firings/plans
    • Stope 2 = 6 firings/plans
    • Stope 3 = 4 firings/plans

A driller may:

  • Wish to see the entirety of the drive in its original format, or
  • Wish to see which holes/rings belong to a specific firing/plan within that stope.

The 'Current Plan' toggle is set to ACTIVE as default for all available modes ('Drill', 'Prep' and 'Charge').
