Loading Rules for BlastIQ Mobile

Note: The new features will only be available in SHOTPlus version 6 and above.

BlastIQ Mobile is able to import loading rules from SHOTPlus and apply them to blastholes whenever required. This enables a hole's loading design to be updated in the field in response to the conditions in the field.

Specifically, BlastIQ Mobile can apply rules that depend on the following hole parameters:

  • Hole depth
  • Hole type
  • Amount of water (or Depth to water)
  • Material type
  • Diameter
  • Hole ID

Rules will also be applied in the field based on loading tables that are sent from SHOTPlus (excluding tables relating to Strata Intercepts). Rules associated with other parameters such as temperature are not supported through the BlastIQ system. A plan containing strata intercepts can still be sent up to BlastIQ Mobile so that strata information is displayed within BlastIQ Mobile, however for QA/QC data should be imported back into SHOTPlus before applying the rules and uploading the full loading design.

Configure Backfill, Redrill and Wet State Tolerances

Holes requiring backfill and redrill can be identified on BlastIQ Mobile buy using tolerances defined in SHOTPlus per hole type. Similarly, holes with a tolerance set for water can be identified as wet (please note that rules are still required to be written with conditions around water in order for a change of design to occur on the device).

1. To configure backfill and redrill tolerances, select Edit, Design data.

2. Set the backfill, redrill and wet state tolerances for each required hole type (ensuring to select use backfill if this needs to apply on the Mobile device), set the default diameter (note that assume we is not a status that propagates through the BlastIQ system).

Configure a Backfill Material

When exporting backfill tolerance to the BlastIQ system, it is a requirement that a backfill material is defined so that a backfill deck can be inserted into the design for a blast hole when the tolerance is exceeded.

1. Select Edit, Blast properties

2. Select Loading rules, then define a backfill material. An alternative backfill is not required to be set in order for the tolerance to be applied throughout the system.

Configure Loading Rules

1. Loading rules are configured through the Edit Loading Rules tool.

2. For rules to be sent up to the BlastIQ System and applied on BlastIQ Mobile, they need to be defined for supported conditions:

  • Hole depth
  • Hole type
  • Amount of water (or Depth to water)
  • Material type
  • Diameter
  • Hole ID
