Summary
The measure water after backfill or stand-off feature allows the users to record water measurements after a backfill or stand-off deck horizon has been recorded. This enables more efficient workflows in the field while ensuring that the water measurement is evaluated relative to the backfill or stand-off horizon and that the correct loading rule for the hole is applied based on the design specification.
Admin Portal Configuration
Note: This feature should not be turned on until the site fully updates to a SHOTPlus™ version that supports it. SHOTPlus™ is currently working on a version that supports these measurements.
- Select a site and click the "BlastIQ Mobile Configuration" menu.
- Click the "Edit" button.
- By default, "Enable water after deck" is false. Tick the checkbox to enable.
- Click the "Save" button.
BlastIQ™ Mobile
- If the "Enable water after deck" is disabled:
- All water measurements are relative to the hole length.
- If the "Enable water after deck" is enabled:
- Users can record water measurements after a backfill and/or a stand-off deck have been recorded.
- Any water measurements after these decks will be relative to the horizon of the deck, which must be recorded.
- "Amount of water" to mark a hole as wet or dry is calculated accordingly. Read more here.
- Wet side measurements are not supported after backfill or stand-off decks.
User Interface
- The water measurement dialogue shows what the measurement is relative to (if existing) or will be recorded relative to (if new measurement).
- The water measurement will be shown in the diagram accordingly.
- Warnings are displayed when editing existing water measurements, and there is a difference in what the new water measurement will be recorded relative to.
Conditions

Relative to Backfill
- To classify a water measurement as relative to backfill:
- In the charging panel, add a hole measurement that triggers a backfill.
- Open the backfill deck (deck 0) and add horizon measurement.
- The product should be stemming, with no other actual measured decks.
- Open the water measurement dialogue. It should show as relative to backfill.
- Add a water measurement and tap the "OK" button.
- To classify a water measurement as relative to backfill:
-
Relative to Stand-off
-
- To classify a water measurement as relative to stand-off:
- In the charging panel, add a hole measurement.
- Add horizon measurement to an actual stand-off deck (deck 1).
- The product must be stemming, with no other actual decks except a backfill deck.
- Open the water measurement dialogue. It should show as relative to the stand-off.
- Add a water measurement and tap the "OK" button.
- To classify a water measurement as relative to stand-off:
-
-
Relative to Backfill
Important Notes:
-
- The wet side toggle is disabled when the water measurement is relative to backfill or stand-off and is only enabled when it is relative to hole length.
- If the corresponding backfill or stand-off deck is recorded as "loaded not measured", then water measurements are not allowed.
- If a water measurement relative to the backfill or stand-off deck is present, that deck or any deck below cannot be cleared without first clearing the water.
