- Release Date:
- 31st May 2023
- KBA Summary:
- This Knowledge Base Article describes the functionality of the Compliance by Blast dashboard in BlastIQ™ Insights.
Summary
BlastIQ™ Insights Compliance by Blast Dashboard empowers users to effectively assess their drill and blast performance. This feature enables users to analyse compliance tasks across multiple blasts, facilitating the identification of execution trends in drill and blast operations.
The Compliance by Blast Breakdown provides lengths and weights for design variations (over/under), allowing users to see the overall budget impact (original or adjusted design). Users can estimate their drilling and loading expenses by multiplying these figures with a cost constant.
Users can click on a specific data point to seamlessly navigate to its corresponding dashboard for in-depth insights and analysis.
To navigate to the Compliance Dashboard:
- From the BlastIQ™ Insights toolbar, select Dashboards.
- Select Compliance.
or
- From the BlastIQ™ Insights toolbar, select Dashboards.
- Select Overview.
- Click "Compliance". Read more about the Overview Dashboard here.
To navigate to the Drilling Length and Loading Weight compliance by blast breakdown:
- Go to the Compliance dashboard and click Drilling Length to be redirected to the drilling length compliance breakdown.
- Similarly, on the Compliance dashboard, click Loading Weight and be redirected to the loading weight compliance breakdown.
Blasts can be filtered using the following filters:
- Blast Name Search Filter:
- Type in the search box.
- Blasts shown are the ones containing the typed-in characters.
- Blast Status Filter:
- Select All, Fired or Not Fired.
- Date Range filter:
- Select Created or Fired Date.
- From and To fields are not mandatory.
- If the date range filter is not used, the blasts shown are the latest created/fired for the site.
- Maximum number of blasts shown is based on the Display Filter.
- Elevation filter:
- Choose a minimum and a maximum elevation.
- Select Collar or Grade.
- If an elevation filter is not used, the blasts show an elevation range.
- Maximum number of blasts shown is based on the Display Filter.
- Tags filter:
- Click on the Tags icon.
- Select the desired tags from each category.
- Click Apply to apply the filter criteria.
- It will return the blasts containing the selected tags based on the following logic:
- OR for tags within the same category.
- AND for tags across categories.
- Click on Clear and then Apply to clear all tags filters.
- Click on the X on the top right to close the tags filter by, any edits to the filter criteria will be lost if not previously applied.
You can read more about Tags here.
- Clear All filters - clears any filters that have been applied.
- Display selection:
- Choose 20, 30, 60, 90, 250, and 500 blasts from the dropdown list.
- This filter dictates the maximum number of blasts displayed in addition to other filters.
- To sort the plans, choose the newest or oldest from the drop-down list.

Compliance
-
On the cards:
-
Drilling Length
- Select from various comparison options such as "Length After Backfill," "Drill Actual Length," "First Measured Length," and "Measured Length."
- The system dynamically updates the number of holes and their percentage for the compliant, underdrilled, overdrilled, considered based on the selected comparison options.
-
Drilling XY Position
- The data represents the count and percentage of compliant, non-compliant, and considered holes.
-
Loading Weight
- Select from various comparison options such as "Design," "Adjusted Design," "Weight," and "Weight%".
- The system dynamically updates the number of holes and their percentage for the compliant, underloaded, overloaded and considered based on the selected comparison options.
-
Final Stemming Length
- Select from various comparison options such as "Design" and "Adjusted Design".
- The system dynamically updates the number of holes and their percentage for the compliant, understemmed, overstemmed, and considered based on the selected comparison options.

Deviation
- Select from the deviation type options, such as "Design" and "Tolerance".
- The chosen comparison option and deviation type will determine the Length Over and Under data.
-
Considered
- For a hole to be considered in the compliance score, it needs to have both the corresponding design and actual values.
- The data provides the number of holes and percentages, dynamically updated depending on the chosen comparison options.
- For calculation details, please navigate to the Calculation section.
