Summary
This knowledge base article explains how to change the display mode for surfaces in SHOTPlus™ version 6.
There are five different display modes for surfaces in SHOTPlus™ version 6, they are:
- Triangles;
- Boundary only;
- Contours;
- Rendered; and
- Elevation heatmap.
Edit Display Mode
To edit the display mode of a surface:
- Select the appropriate surface.
- Right click and select Edit.
- In the Edit surface dialog box select the desired display mode from the Display mode drop down box.
- To finish select either:
- Cancel - to cancel any changes and close the Edit surface dialog box.
- Apply - to apply any changes made without closing the Edit surface dialog box.
- OK - to apply and changes made and close the Edit surface dialog box.
Display Modes
Triangles
Displays a surface as triangles made up of lines drawn between adjacent points in a surface.
Boundary Only
Displays the outermost boundary of a surface, with the interior filled by a crosshatch pattern.
Contours
Displays a surface as a surface of contour lines, based on elevation.
Rendered
Displays a surface as a rendered solid, of a single colour, based on the triangle structure of the surface.
The percentage transparency for rendered surface can be edited by:
- Opening the Edit layer dialog box by:
- Selecting Layering Properties from the Edit surface dialog box; or
- Selecting the appropriate layer from the Layer manager right clicking and selecting Edit.
- From the Edit layer dialog box enter the desired transparency.
- To finish select either:
- Cancel - to cancel any changes and close the Edit layer dialog box.
- Apply - to apply any changes made without closing the Edit layer dialog box.
- OK - to apply and changes made and close the Edit layer dialog box.
Elevation Heatmap
Displays a surface as rendered solid, coloured based on the relative elevation of that surface.
