Profile Wizard - Burdens

This Knowledge Base Article describes the different burden measurements that are shown in the Profile wizard’s ‘Table’ view.

The Profile wizard’s ‘Table’ view provides burden measurements at user defined intervals (nominally 0.5 m) down each ‘Hole type 1’ blasthole. The burden is defined as the distance between the blasthole and the registered face or bench surface.

The Table view shows three different burden measurements:

  • Perp – Perpendicular burden: The distance measured to the registered surface at 90° from the blasthole, at a bearing equal to the slice direction for the blasthole.

  • Abs – Absolute burden: The minimum distance measured to the registered surface at any angle from the blasthole track, at a bearing equal to the slice direction for the blasthole.

  • 3D – Three-dimensional burden: The minimum burden measured to the registered surface at any angle or bearing from the blasthole track.
