This article describes how to manage projects within the BlastIQ™ Underground Desktop application.

What is a Project file?

An .fse project file is a saved file used by BlastIQ™ Underground. It enables users to store a blast along with its contextual information, making it easy to share and open by other users. The file includes details about the BlastIQ™ site being worked on and can contain:

  • Blast designs
  • DXF solids such as drives, stope shapes, and CMS scans
  • Evaluator shapes

Starting a Project

To begin a new project in BlastIQ™ Underground Desktop:

  1. Select 'NEW PROJECT' from the main screen after starting BlastIQ™ Underground Desktop.
  2. Select the appropriate site from the drop down box in the 'Select a Site' dialog.
  3. Select 'Next'.

BlastIQ™ Underground Desktop will open a project assigned to the selected BlastIQ™ site.

Saving a Project

To save a project in BlastIQ™ Underground Desktop:

  1. Navigate to the 'Project' tab on the main ribbon.
  2. Select 'Save', or 'Save As'.
  3. Use windows explorer to navigate to the correct directory.
  4. Define the project name.
  5. Select 'Save'.

Opening an Existing Project

To open an existing Project File from the main screen:

  1. Select 'OPEN PROJECT'.
  2. Use windows explorer to navigate to the correct directory.
  3. Select the correct .FSE project file.
  4. Select 'Open'.

To open an existing Project File from within BlastIQ™ Underground Desktop:

  1. Navigate to the 'Project' tab on the main ribbon.
  2. Use windows explorer to navigate to the correct directory.
  3. Select the correct .FSE project file.
  4. Select 'Open'.

Regardless of the BlastIQ™ site that was selected when opening the project, BlastIQ™ Underground Desktop will revert to the BlastIQ™ site associated with the selected .FSE project file.
