Application:

BlastIQ™ Underground Desktop

Version:

1.4.4 and above

KBA Summary:

This KBA will explain how users can move holes between plans in BlastIQ™ Underground using BlastIQ™ Underground Desktop.

Introduction

Users can move holes between two existing BlastIQ™ plans or move rings from an existing BlastIQ™ plan to a new plan.

Requirements

Please be aware of the following before using the move holes functionality:

  • The holes must exist in a BlastIQ™ plan before they can be moved to another plan.

  • Holes can only be moved between plans on the same BlastIQ™ site.

Move Holes

To move holes between plans in BlastIQ™ Underground Desktop:

  1. Ensure that the source plan exists in BlastIQ™ and has been added to the current project in BlastIQ™ Underground Desktop.
  2. Using the lasso tool, select the holes to be moved in the main window. Alternatively, there is a hole selection step in the Move Holes wizard.
  3. Initiate the Move Holes workflow by either:
    1. After selecting holes, right-click to open the context menu and select Move Holes from the menu, or
    2. Navigate to the Tools tab on the Ribbon and select the Move Holes button.
  4. If you have more than one plan loaded into the application, you will asked to select a plan. Select a plan using a checkbox, then select Next.
  5. The source plan must be synced with BlastIQ™ before completing the Move Holes operation. This is to ensure that all holes and comments exist in BlastIQ™ prior to the move. Select Yes to sync with BlastIQ™ and proceed to the next step.
  6. To select holes from the source plan:
    1. You can use the search bar to dynamically filter rings by ring name for easier selection.
    2. Use the Select All button to quickly select all holes in the plan.
    3. Use the Deselect All button to quickly deselect all holes in the plan.
    4. Select all holes contained in a ring by using the check box next to the ring name.
    5. Expand a ring to view or select holes contained with the ring.
    6. Optional: If you need to rename a hole or a ring, use the pencil icon to open the rename input.
  7. Next, select the type of destination plan: a new plan or an existing plan.
Move holes to a new plan Move holes to an existing plan

If you are moving holes to a new plan:

  1. Ensure that "Create a new plan" is selected,
  2. Provide a name for the new plan. Note: you will not be able to proceed until a unique plan name has been entered.
  3. Optional: apply a plan group label to the new plan. Refer to this article for more information about grouping blasts.
  4. Select Move Holes to start the operation.
  1. You will see a screen that shows the progress of the Move Holes operation. If there are any errors during the operation they will be displayed here. You will be provided with the option to Retry, or Go Back to the previous screen and change your specifications.
  2. A successful Move Holes operation will show the successful steps, and provide you with the option to start a new move holes operation via the Start Over button or exit the wizard via the Finish button.
  3. Once you have exited the wizard, the main window will show the destination plan, and hide the source plan. Use the eye icons in the project manager to toggle plan visibility.
