- KBA Summary:
-
This KBA summarises how to configure and generate the Exclusion Area Tool report.
Introduction
This document will explain the additions to the Exclusion Area Tool that enable a report to be generated using the parameters defined in the Exclusion Area Tool. For more information on how to use the Exclusion Area Tool, please read this article.
Information
The values used in the instructions below are examples only and are not recommended for use at your site. Site specific information should be taken into account when using these estimations to define any exclusion zone. Users should exercise caution and ensure a thorough risk assessment is completed when defining an exclusion zone.
Using the report
- Set up the main window with any layers you would like displayed on the report, e.g. image overlays or mine polygons.
- Access the Exclusion Area tool using this button on the toolbar.
- Enter the required parameters for exclusion zone modelling. The parameters defined here will be used for the calculations for the report. The K factors will be used for the calculations and displayed on the report.
- Click on the "Report..." button.
- In the Exclusion Zone Report Properties dialog box, enter the required safety factors for reporting. Note: 3 values will be used, and they must be greater than or equal to 1. SHOTPlus™ will generate polygons using these safety factors.
- Populate the contact details as required. Any blank fields will not be displayed on the report.
- Click OK.
- A new window will open to preview the report. The image will reflect any data displayed in the main window and the exclusion polygons will be added to the "Exclusion area (polygons)" layer.
- To finish:
- Print the report to your chosen printer, or
- Close out of the previewer. You will return to the Exclusion Area Tool.
Explaining the report
- The logo on the report can be customised by uploading a main logo via Edit > Program Settings > Printing Logos.
- These values can be customised through Edit > Blast Properties > Blast header information.
- The blast name uses the .spf filename. For example, this file was saved as "Blast 1.spf"
- These are the safety factor values entered in the Exclusion Zone Report Properties dialog box in Step 5 above.
- These are the K factor values entered in the Exclusion Zone Tool in Step 3 above.
- These are the contact details entered in the Exclusion Zone Report Properties dialog box in Step 6 above. The table will expand or shrink depending on how much data is entered.
Tips
- If polygons are not displaying over the top of an image overlay, check their elevation.
- Use filled polygons to demarcate blast guard positions.
- The printed image quality on the report is dependent on the resolution of the image used in the overlay.
