Summary
An option to capture a single intercept value has been added to BlastIQ Mobile. This value will be imported into SHOTPlus with other field-captured data and can be used to create strata surface A, which can then be used in the application of loading rules.
How to Enable and Use the "First Intercept Capture" Feature
Follow these steps to enable and use the "First Intercept Capture" feature in the BlastIQ Mobile.
- Login to the Admin portal and open your site.
- Click the BlastIQ Mobile Configuration menu.
- On the BlastIQ Mobile Configuration page, locate and click the "Edit" button.
- Find the "Enable first intercept capture" section in the configuration options and tick the checkbox to enable the "First Intercept Capture".
- Click "Save".
- Launch the BlastIQ Mobile app and choose one of the available plans from the drill plans page.
-
Navigate to either the drilling page or the measurements page. Tap on the depth from the measurement or on the drilling page, open one of the holes, and tap on the depth.
- The keypad will appear, allowing you to capture an intercept value.
Understanding the "First Intercept Capture" Setting
"First Intercept Capture" behaviour depends on whether it is configured at the plant or quarry/site levels through the Admin portal.
Note: Please see this article on How to configure a site that can support multiple customer sites for BlastIQ Mobile using Admin portal
-
Plant-Level Configuration
- Activating "First Intercept Capture" at the plant level affects all sites within that plant. In other words, it activates the "First Intercept Capture" feature for all quarries or sites linked to the plant.
- If you deactivate "First Intercept Capture" at the plant level and activate it at the site level, the site-level setting won't override the plant-level setting. This means that the "First Intercept Capture" field will not be visible in the BlastIQ Mobile interface.
- Configuring "First Intercept Capture" at the site level linked to a plant is impossible, as it would affect the login.
-
Site-Level Configuration
- When a site isn't linked to a plant, users can control the 'First Intercept Capture' feature. When enabled, the 'First Intercept Capture' field appears on the mobile app both in the measurement and drill page; when disabled, it disappears.
-
Recommendation
- It's not advisable to disable "First Intercept Capture" at the site level because a site may be accessed directly or through a plant-level setup. It's best to manage this setting at the plant level to ensure consistent behaviour and avoid unexpected issues.
