AVM Site Configuration

Note: This article is intended for Orica Technical Service Engineers or Site Admin Roles to Set up and Administer the AVM Model via the BlastIQ Admin Portal. 

 

Create site wide points of interests (POIs)

Site wide points of interest are required to be defined for the site as these points of interest are then configured as monitoring points for the purposes of modelling blast vibrations and air waves within specified “modelling domain” radiating out to these points.

  1. Log into the admin portal at www.blastiq.com/admin and search for the required site using the site name

  2. Select the required site and once the site admin page is loaded, scroll down to the “Points of Interest” section after ensuring that the api version selector is toggled to “V3”.

  3. Within the Points of Interest box, select “Add New”

  4. Fill in the required fields using the appropriate site based co-ordinate values for the required POI and select “Save”.

  5. Repeat this process for each POI you would like to make available on this site.

Create an AVM Modelling Domain

Modelling domains are the basis of AVM modelling. They define a boundary within which blasts can be designed and modelled.

  1. Ensure the API selector is toggled to “V3” and then select the “AVM Admin” button

  2. Select “Add New”

  3. Enter the required data specifying the modelling domain. Note that a boundary data file containing the domain boundary polygon using site co-ordinates is required.

Associate available POIs for the site to a modelling domain

Once a domain boundary has been established. Available points of interest need to be associated with that domain boundary so that the modelling code knows which POIs to perform modelling calculations for.

  1. Select the domain that requires POI association

  2. Select “Add New”

  3. Check any POI that you would like to associate with the modelling domain and select “Confirm Selection”.

Configure POIs as monitoring points for modelling

The POIs are now associated but still require further configuration data to be entered prior to being usable as monitoring points. This extra data is required for the calculation engine to appropriately model vibrations and air blast values.

  1. Select “Edit” on individual monitoring points in the list

  2. Enter appropriate modelling parameter values for vibration and air wave predictions. Note that the parameters are prefilled with defaults and that users are only required to change as required. Ensure that the options “Available for prediction” have been checked as required for vibration and air blast individually.

  3. The main modelling domain page will clearly show which monitoring points have been properly configured and are ready for use.

Set limits values on associated POIs

Limits can be set on individual POIs such that the predictions can be displayed in relation to them. ie. within or over limit.

  1. Select “Edit” on an available POI on the main AVM Administration screen

  2. Set limits as required

  3. The site has now been fully configured for use with AVM modelling.
