Terminology

POI (Point of Interest)

The physical location where vibration and Air Over Pressure measuring devices are placed.

AOP (Air Over Pressure)

Displayed in decibels (dBL). Refers to the air pressure changes generated by a blast, measured using specific instrument.

VPPV (Vector Sum Peak Particle Velocity)

A single value that summarises the ground vibration amplitude of the event/measurement.

Peak X, Y, Z

The peak values of each axis of a triaxial geophone (ground vibration)

Dominant Frequency X, Y, Z

The frequency that describes the vibration of each axis of a triaxial geophone.

Filters

Filter.png

Blasts can be filtered using the following filters:

  1. Blast Name Search Filter:
    • Type in the search box.
    • Blasts shown are the ones containing the typed-in characters.
  2. Blast Status Filter:
    • Select: All, Fired or Not Fired.
  3. Date Range filter:
    • Select Created or Fired Date.
    • From and To fields are not mandatory.
    • If the date range filter is not used, the blasts shown are the latest created/fired for the site.
    • Maximum number of blasts shown is based on the Display Filter.
  4. Elevation filter:
    • Choose a minimum and a maximum elevation.
    • Select Collar or Grade.
    • If an elevation filter is not used, the blasts show an elevation range.
    • Maximum number of blasts shown is based on the Display Filter.
  5. Tags filter:
    • Click on the Tags icon.
    • Select the desired tags from each category.
    • Click Apply to apply the filter criteria.
    • It will return the blasts containing the selected tags based on the following logic:
      • OR for tags within the same category.
      • AND for tags across categories.
    • Click on Clear and then Apply to clear all tags filters.
    • Click on the X on the top right to close the tags filter; any edits to the filter criteria will be lost if not previously applied.
      Read more about Tags here.
  6. Clear All filters - clears any filters that have been applied.
  7. Display selection:
    • Choose 30, 60, 90 blasts and Newest or Oldest blasts from the dropdown list.
    • This dictates the limit of blasts that are shown from other filters criteria and whether these blasts are picked from oldest first or newest first.

How does blast-event association works?

Once a blast is marked as ‘Fired’ in the ‘Blast Management’ tab, the system will automatically attempt to associate the blast with its corresponding vibration and or air over pressure event, using a “One Blast One Event” logic.

Association Logic

  1. A 120 seconds interval will be automatically defined, spanning:
    • 60 seconds before the entered blast time, and
    • 60 seconds after the entered blast time.
  2. The system scans this interval for events not yet associated with any blast.
  3. The blast is then associated with the earliest available event within the defined interval.
  4. Once associated, measurement data for the blast will be displayed in the corresponding dashboards.

Important Notes

    • In case there are multiple blasts fired within a small window of time, the defined interval might contain more than a single event. In these cases, it is necessary that the blasts are declared as ‘Fired’ in strict chronological order. Since the blasts are associated with the earliest event registered within an automatically defined time interval, failing to do so might lead to a wrong measurement to blast association.
    • After setting the blast date and time, it might take up to a minute for the measurement values to show on the ENVIROTrack™ and Quantities dashboards. Refreshing the page might be necessary after this period if results are not shown.
