Orica released an update to SHOTPlus™ - version 5.7.5 on the 4th December 2018.

The update is available as an auto update notification upon start-up or it can be manually downloaded and installed from here

Features, Improvements, & Bug fixes included in the December release;

New Features

An improved surface creation experience

Easily create surfaces at; 

  • Grade Level
  • Design Toe
  • Dipped Toe

Easily create points for holes (all or selected only) at;

  • Design Toe
  • Dipped Toe


Visibility Manger 

  • New option to show/hide grid labels


  • Blast Clearance report is now in landscape

Measurement & Dimension Tools

  • Measurement and Dimension Tools now snap to any part of the hole track


  • Dragging & dropping a .dxf file onto the main window in order to import it will now open the .dxf Import dialog to allow changes to import settings

Maintain Hole Track

  • The Maintain hole track option is now checked by default

Hole Table

  • Hole Table will now display Wet Sides values even if there is no Amount Of/Depth To Water value recorded

Loading Rules

  • Apply & Empty Loading Rules function now allows users to apply rules or empty holes for all visible holes only

Fragmentation Prediction

  • Fragmentation Prediction now informs the user if the explosive products in their design are not configured with sufficient information (in the product database) to perform the calculations


  • The Edit loading, Loading tables, Available Resources, Text Import and Text Export dialogues will now default to the last folder used instead of the SHOTPlus Templates folder

Bugs fixes

  • Loading chart on the Design Data dialog did not always refresh in response to data changes
  • DXF import/export of circles needed to include normal vectors
  • EBS Logging Report was allowing users to export to the logger with too many detonators connected to a lead in
  • Show Axes and Show Grid visibility settings would not apply upon creating a new blast
  • Wet State was not importing correctly from BlastIQ
  • Use Back-fill setting was always enabled when tolerances were imported from a plan in BlastIQ
  • EBS Toolbar was not saving the current settings
  • Default drill resources were not always referenced correctly, resulting in an exception when saving the file
  • .csv import was throwing a Format Exception when importing hole types where Hole Type name was text 
  • EBS Leadin was not displaying the total lead wire length
  • Distance & offset values were only being displayed in the Profile and Markout Wizards for holes that were attached to rows
  • Failed import in the Laser Wizard tool did not show the user an error message for the failure
  • Laser Wizard tool can throw an unhandled exception if the user loads another file after the first fails to import
  • Laser Wizard tool was zooming out the main window view if the user cancelled out
  • Leica Drill Export was exporting values in the incorrect unit of measure
  • Explosive resources may be unavailable if Booster resources in the same family are not also marked as available
